Heavy Vehicle Accidents

The engineers at HRYCAY have been recognized as authorities in heavy vehicle accident investigation and engineering analysis. For accidents involving heavy vehicles such as tractor-trailers, straight trucks and buses, many of the conventional investigative techniques and calculation methodologies simply do not apply. We have senior engineers with specialized training and experience in air brake systems, suspension systems, steering systems, the active and passive electronic safety systems on the vehicles and trailer and dolly coupling devices unique to heavy vehicles. We can quickly complete a CVSA vehicle inspection after an accident to determine the vehicle's compliance with the law and with recognized safety practices.

Our engineers are intimately familiar with the modern day active and passive safety technologies and tracking technologies often equipped on heavy commercial tractors including Qualcomm, PeopleNet, Vorad/Bendix Wingman Collision Warning Systems, Meritor OnGuard Collision Mitigation Systems, Mobile Eye, and Drive Cam having attended the manufacturers engineering and design facilities during product demonstration days as well as conducted independent testing of these various systems.

Our senior engineers provide in-depth training to all our staff engineers in this area, providing one-on-one instruction in the field, not the classroom, with hands-on accident specific exposure that enables our employees to become experts in the investigation and analysis of heavy motor vehicle accidents.

Our experience in investigating over 2,000 accidents involving heavy vehicles enables us to recognize and document the important evidence required to analyze the accident directly at the scene or site. Our extensive experience also enables the use of sophisticated analytical techniques to determine accident vehicle dynamics including speed, roadway position, and the potential for crash avoidance.

As in all types of accidents, we give top priority to investigating and documenting the accident evidence when it is fresh offering 24 hour, 7 day a week emergency response.
